Sc1014 - Sistolic Multiple Queue Engine
Proven in silicon. Up to 90K gates. The most compact, the fastest and
best solution on the market. (25Gbps
bandwidth) Broadcast and
Selective Broadcast support. It will save years of effort. It can
easily customized to the customer needs.
Application: Desktop, Enterprise,
Metropolitan switches and routers, ATM switches.
It allows concurrent multiples streams (12Gbps input bandwidth) from the switch engine (Sc1016). It
accepts transfers in cells of 64/128 Bytes. It concurrently stores packets as they come in
queues. It also concurrently retrieves packets from Queues based on
(strict/weighted/paced bucket/TDMA) priority and forward them (on cell
bases) to the transmit MAC’s and/or SPI4
channels (12Gbps output bandwidth).
(see also sc1016.htm)
The bandwidth is also scalable and depends of the input/output bus and
the system clock.
Rich set of drop statistics per source/destination port.
It supports jumbo packets.
The bandwidth is scalable.
The Input Traffic Manager per packet basis provides the traffic rules
(shaping) based on input constrains (metered and marked colors) and queues
levels. (see also sc1016.htm with metering and
color generation)
Options of input shaping traffic rules:
·
shaping on queue
level/ packet color/ WRED.
·
XON/XOFF flow-control
The Output Traffic Manager extracts packets from one of 4 QoS queues of each output channels, based on
(straight/weighted priority or bandwidth). The Scheduler concurrently
delivers from selected queues based on the momentary readiness of output
channels (transmit MAC’s or SPI4 channels).
Sc1014 will Broadcast/Multicast packets only to
the queues which have the permission determined by ingress rules (VLAN,
packet clasification).
The Egrees processor at the egress, will
insert/strip/overwrite/pass per packet type and destination, selected
VLAN/QTAG/MPLS/Proprietary Header (programmed or ingress determined rules).
The Multi-Queue-Engine can be individually customized per customer
request (number of inputs ports, output ports, buffer size, clusters,
queues/cluster etc).
The MQE includes comprehensive statistics (flow-control, drop, pass per VLAN/service).
Major
applications include:
MACs to/from MACs, MACs to/from SPI channels, MAC’s
+ SPI chanels to/from MAC’s
+ SPI channels, FiberChannel/SerialATA to/from
SPI4-2, ATM, or in general any store-and-forward application for
aggregating/switching.
One
Port/Channel to Any Port/Channel or One Port/Channel to Group of Any Ports/Channels (multicast/selective
broadcast support) or One Port/Channel
broadcasting to All Ports/Channels.

The following diagram indicates a typical
application. It can be L2 switch/ L2&L3VPN or router.
