Overview
Sistolic is an industry leader in providing licensable cores for
MAC’s (10G, Gigabit, 10/100), switch engine, multi-queue engine, SPI4-2,
802.11e a/b/g MAC, L2/L3 switching
technology and other modules.
Additionally, Sistolic provides consulting and also do ASIC
Design and Engineering Services. We will work for you from the initial
specifications through final board level hardware and software test and
evaluation.
The name "Sistolic" comes from the word "systolic"
which refers to synchronous lock-step motion. Systolic also represents the
rhythmic contraction of the heart when it pushes blood through the body,
hence the mantra for Sistolic: "The Heartbeat of the Internet".
Note that the 'y' was replaced by an 'i' in Systolic to represent the
elemental symbol for silicon 'Si'.
Sistolic began as MetarADC. MetarADC was founded in 1997 by Dr. Michael
Florea. It was operated from Irvine, California,
although the bulk of the engineering operations were conducted from Bucharest,
Romania to utilize
the considerable engineering talent available there. Romania's
excellent universities and educational system have created a tremendous
pool of talent for Sistolic. Romania
is an European Union memeber. MetarADC had an extensive retinue of products
fielded in switches and IP equipment worldwide and has invested heavily in
keeping Sistolic at the leading edge of the emerging Metro Networks
marketplace.
The charter of Sistolic is to provide leading edge components and
designs for high-speed Internet infrastructure for the metro market.
Sistolic is quickly becoming a major Intellectual Property provider in this
rapidly growing market. Sistolic relies heavily on providing products which
are compatible with the appropriate "Open-Standards" but invests
heavily in R&D to be sure that the internals of the Sistolic designs
are faster and lower power than the competitors.
Specialization
Sistolic specializes in MAC’s for wired and wireless networks,
switching technology, SPI4-2, 10G or higher speed packet processing, L2/L3
switching, RTL and Test-Bench Design. It has field proven switch and MAC
designs and has developed specialized capabilities in hardware as switch
engine, search engine, multi queues engines, traffic managers, policy and
metering administration. It is currently developing new capabilities for
QoS, packet prioritizing and precision clock management. This range of
technologies will place Sistolic at the leading edge of the growing
Video-On-Demand service industry.
